Prof. Shahani and Dr. Senabulya (pictured at left) attended the Ninth Conference on Aperiodic Crystals held in Ames, IA, USA this past July 2018. They each presented recent results on behalf of the group on the growth dynamics of quasicrystalline solid phases from a liquid. In recognition of his presentation, Prof. Shahani won the Young Investigator Award. The team looks forward to the next opportunity to participate (in three years) and to meet other scientists working in this exciting field!
Saman Moniri presents at committee meeting
Doctoral student Saman Moniri presented his research on "Non-classical mechanisms of eutectic solidification" to his dissertation committee this past Monday, May 21. Congratulations to Saman for successfully completing this first milestone to his PhD!
Dr. Senabulya wins AAUW fellowship
Dr. Nancy Senabulya has received a fellowship from the American Association for University Women (AAUW). Her award will be active in the 2018-2019 calendar year, and will allow Nancy to pursue cutting-edge academic work while leading innovative community projects to empower women and girls. Congratulations again, Nancy!
